Terms
A placeholder, in plain words, while Paragraft is in private testing with one writing group. A lawyer reviews these before anyone else is invited. Last changed October 19, 2026.
A private test
Paragraft is free while it's being tested with your group. Things will change, and some things will break; please report problems when they do. Keep your own copies of anything you can't lose: Account settings › Your data downloads everything you own.
Your writing is yours
You keep the rights to what you write. Every line is credited to whoever wrote it, in each story's history. You let Paragraft store, format and show your writing to the people you share it with, and nothing more.
A story belongs to its owner. Writing you add to someone else's story stays in its history, credited to you, if you leave or are removed. Its owner can also delete the story: you're told, and can read and download it for 30 days before it's erased (backups keep it up to 14 more days). Paragraft keeps the record of who wrote what; credit and payment between co-writers are for you to agree among yourselves. Comments and notes don't give anyone a claim on the script, even when a writer uses the idea.
Be decent
Only upload writing you have the right to share. Don't use Paragraft to harass anyone, or to break the law. A story's owner can remove writers and delete comments in their story.
No guarantees
Paragraft is provided as it is, without warranties. We back the database up every night, but we can't promise it will always be available or that nothing will ever be lost.
